29. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

It is beautiful, yes? Today we moved camp up to the Canyon campground, which is named because of its proximity to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, a 23 mile canyon with excellent views. It varies in depth from a few hundred feet to a quarter of a mile. The kids would say that we explored the entire vertical quarter mile as we descended both sides, one staircase is visible in this picture:

The hike was worth it as this is one of those beautiful places that can take your breath away. We were able to earn our Jr. Ranger badges as well, myself included.

We committed to hot dogs over the campfire and were almost able to get it in before the rain started. By candlelight we played a game of euchre, which Brody is starting to pick up.

Until next time, our best to everyone.
